A Lasting Legacy for HPV Awareness in Greece
Long before IPVS takes place in Athens, a core group of dedicated Greek HPV experts, researchers, advocates, and educators have been working on a multi-dimensional plan to inform and educate the Greek public about HPV. The purpose is to promote people to act to protect themselves and their families from HPV-related diseases. Cervical cancer, for example, is a significant health issue for women in Greece, but as we know, it’s preventable! As host of the world’s leading HPV conference, we will amplify these efforts with the hope of attracting more local stakeholders to the table to embed these efforts into an ongoing national movement.
The IPVS 2026 legacy in Greece is about more than one week in Athens. It’s a long-term commitment to public awareness, better vaccination uptake, higher screening levels, and building lasting partnerships to address the challenges that this country faces when it comes to beating HPV. From classrooms and clinics to social media and street actions, Team Greece is mobilizing to build a future where no Greek family loses a loved one to HPV-related disease.
Team Greece
Three Main Partners
IPVS 2026 Legacy Objectives
- Raise public awareness of HPV across Greece — sustained activity from 2026 and well beyond.
- Motivate the Greek public to choose vaccination and protect their long-term health.
- Mobilize Greek healthcare professionals to actively recommend HPV vaccination in every relevant consultation.
Our legacy program turns IPVS 2026 into a year-round movement. Through awareness campaigns, education and community action, Team Greece is working across the country to make HPV vaccination the easy, informed choice for every Greek family, and to keep that momentum alive long after the conference ends!
