IPVS Travel Scholarships are made available for IPVS 2026 (October 22-25, 2026 in Athens, Greece) through the support of the Gates Foundation. These travel grants are for residents of low- and lower-middle income countries and are open to non IPVS members. 

TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP INCLUSIONS
  • Complimentary registration to IPVS 2026
  • Flight reimbursement up to a certain entitlement per region
  • 5-night accommodation on a single room basis in Athens, Greece (booked by organizers)
  • Meal allowance of 160 EUR (in total for the duration of the conference)
  • IPVS membership for year 2027 (activated post conference)
 
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • You are a healthcare or allied health professional or a research scientist with experience in the field of papillomaviruses or papillomavirus-related diseases.
  • You reside* in a low- or lower-middle income country, as per the World Bank country classification. *Reside is defined as living at least 50% of the year in the specified country. (*Ethiopia is included as an eligible country)
  •  Your main employer/host-institution is based in a low- or lower-middle income country.

Please note that it is a very competitive process and we encourage you to take the time to upload all necessary documents and carefully and clearly detail your candidacy, motivation and objectives in the form.

 
THE IPVS 2026 SCHOLARS PROGRAM

By attending IPVS 2026, Scholarship recipients will: 

  • Gain up-to-date knowledge on HPV infection, prevention, and management.

  • Participate in dedicated scholars sessions alongside the main scientific program.

  • Be expected to share their learning with colleagues in their home countries.

  • Network with researchers, clinicians, and policymakers from around the world.

  • Access year-round educational resources as IPVS members.

  • Engage in IPVS initiatives such as the Country Ambassadors and Mentorship Programs.

Becoming an IPVS scholar offers long-term engagement in the global IPVS community, beyond attending the conference.
